Shiso and Garlic Shishito peppers with soy sauce and parmesan cheese

Ingredients (serves 3~4)

25~30 shishito peppers
*5 shiso leaves
*1 clove of garlic thinly sliced
*1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
*1 tbsp soy sauce
*1 tbsp (or more) grated or shredded parmesan cheese
*1/2 lemon

Directions

1. Pierce peach shishito using tip of your knife or toothpick. (this prevents shishito
from bursting during sautéing.)
2. Put olive oil and garlic slice in the pan and turn on the heat. This will allow garlic to
infuse the flavor into the oil slowly without scorching.
3. Take out the garlic slices when they turn slightly golden brown.
4. Add shishito and sauté until they are blistered.
5. Put back in the garlic slices.
6. Add soy sauce, mix well and quickly turn off heat.
7. Place the shishito on your favorite plate and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
8. Top with julienned shiso leaves and serve with half of lemon.

Tip:This dish can be served hot or at room temperature. The combination of soy sauce and parmesan cheese adds extra flavor and delightful complexity to delicious fresh shishito peppers.
A great appetizer for this season. Enjoy!
